Convert Video Clips into Short Films

New Beginner's Training Course starts 13th April, 2018

Only £40.00

Following the huge success of the Club's first beginner's course on Film Making two years ago a new programme will start in April.  The course will run over eight Friday evenings (7:30 pm to 10:00 pm) from the 13th April to the 15th June.  To accommodate the early and late Spring Bank Holidays no course sessions will run on Friday 4th and 25th May.

Participants will learn basic film making skills, including Preparation, Camera Craft, Lighting, Sound and Editing.  The course is for anyone aged 16 and over who is interested in creative film making whether or not they have previous experience.  All that is required is enthusiasm.  Equipment will be provided for practice exercises or bring along your own camcorder, stills camera or smartphone.

Having completed the previous course, Mike Power commented.....

"This was a very thorough introduction to film making.  I particularly liked the combination of technical and artistic skills.  In one session we spent the first half talking about different types of lighting, and in the second half we got our 'hands on' experience with lighting equipment.  We collaborated in small groups to develop our own short films and the resultant films were then presented on the last evening."
